A high honor handed down to a local leader in public education.
Calhoun City Schools Superintendent Dr. Michele Taylor was recently named as one of four finalists for the Georgia Superintendent of the Year for 2014.
According to the school system, this is the second time Dr. Taylor has been nominated for the award as well as the second time she has been named a finalist for the honor. The Georgia Schools Superintendent Association says Taylor was one of 19 nominated for the award this year.
The winner will be announced in December.
In addition to Taylor the finalists include the superintendents for the Forsyth, Clarke and Rabun County School Systems respectively.
