***UPDATE: 12/26/12 10:46pm***

A Calhoun man has been charged with vehicular homicide following the Christmas day accident that killed two women and an infant in Gordon County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, several warrants were taken out against 35-year-old Wednesday afternoon, leading to his arrest later in the day.  Among the charges he faces are three counts of 1st degree vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and feticide by vehicle.

Lynch’s arrest comes after an investigation into the deadly wreck a day before, which killed three and injured three.  Authorities claim that Lynch’s Ford Bronco drifted off of GA HWY 53 on the right side before re-entering the roadway, striking a Kia-Spectra head-on.

The Spectra was driven by 40-year-old April Nacoale Winters, who was killed in the wreck alongside 21-year-old Taneka Ackies and 27-day-old infant Niyla Ackies.  Three other passengers in the vehicle were injured as well, and they were taken to Erlanger Hospital for treatment. All of the car’s occupants were reportedly from Cartersville.

A passenger from Lynch’s vehicle was also injured and transported to the hospital.

Lynch was taken to the Gordon County Detention Center at 6 pm.

Also, the investigating trooper took warrants this afternoon for Brent Leighton Lynch and Lynch was taken to the Gordon County Detention Center at 6 p.m. on the charges.
