Two children were killed and their mother injured following a two-vehicle accident near the Murray-Gordon county line Friday morning.
Around 10am, the Georgia State Patrol reports that 39-year-old Susan Renee Greene of Summerville was driving a GMC Envoy on Old U.S. 411 when she ran a stop sign. An eastbound tractor trailer struck the vehicle on the left side, causing the envoy to spin and hit the rear-end of truck again. The wreck killed Mrs. Greene’s two sons; Mason, age 12, and Zachary, age 6. Greene and another young passenger, along with the driver of the truck were injured in the collision and taken to Hamilton Health Hospital in Dalton for treatment.
Their condition is not known at this time.
