The Floyd County Sherriff’s office is the star of an upcoming episode of A&E’s “Beyond Scared Straight,” which is set to air this Thursday.

Some three months ago, a camera crew from the Grammy-nominated show followed Sherriff’s Deputies and inmates in the County Jail as they schooled a group of at-risk teens on the stark reality of poor choices.

The teenagers, who had been in trouble for a range of things including drugs, theft and violence, were participating in the Sheriff’s ‘Turning Point’ program, which has existed long before the arrival of camera crews. Both inmates and deputies volunteer their time to give teens a comprehensive picture of Jail life and what future awaits them if they chose to dabble in illegal behaviors.

The Sherriff’s office is actually the focus of two "Beyond Scared Straight" episodes, the first set to air this Thursday at 10p.m. on A&E.

If you would like more information on the Turning Point program or to fill out a form to enroll an at-risk teen, visit the Sheriff’s Office’s website at www.FloydSherriff.com
