The driver of a tractor trailer was killed in a single vehicle crash late Wednesday afternoon in Gordon County.
According to a spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol in Atlanta, the 18-wheeler left the roadway on I-75 and struck a tree. An official at the GSP offices in Calhoun said there was liquid clean-up involved with the crash, though the substance being hauled by the tractor-trailer was not made public.
The driver has been identified as Terry D. Loy, age 59 of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash according to Gordy Wright with the GSP Public Information Office in Atlanta.
