Bartow County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Rydal man late Thursday night after he allegedly broke his elderly aunt’s jaw when she refused to take him to the tanning bed.

Police have jailed Charles Wesley Guyton, age 47, for felony Aggravated Battery.  The victim was his 76-year-old aunt who he said angered him during an argument, causing him to lose his temper and strike her in the mouth.

Guyton allegedly admitted to police he had hit her.  Officers saw blood on the floor of the home and learned from an x-ray that the elderly victim had two fractures to her jaw.  When interviewed by police at Redmond Hospital she was still bleeding significantly from her mouth and had considerable bruising around her face.

Guyton has been charged with one count of Aggravated Battery.
