Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has reappointed Floyd County Commissioner John Mayes to the state’s Board of Corrections, where he will serve as Chairman for the next five years.
In a statement released by the Floyd Commission Wednesday, Mayes is said to be leading a Board charged with developing rules of conduct for the 14,000 state corrections employees as well as providing appropriate treatment and other requirements for Georgia’s approximately 60,000 inmates.
Mayes has served on the Floyd Commission for 14 years.
