A Rome woman was arrested Friday for reportedly stealing the identity of an elderly woman countless times.
At several points last year, Floyd County Jail records indicate Sedricka Nichelle Daniels, age 23, went on a spending spree, racking up over a thousand dollars on five separate credit cards and nine cashed checks---except the name on them wasn’t hers. Police say Daniels stole the identity of an older woman to open credit cards, sign checks, even open up an AT&T account in her forged name. Though the incidents allegedly occurred over a year ago, warrants were not signed for arrest until March 7th. Rome City Police apprehended Daniels on Shorter Avenue and have charged her with several felonies, including five counts of Identity Fraud and another five counts of Financial Transaction Card Fraud.
