Even burglars need the police’s help sometimes.

A Bartow County man was apprehended by authorities early Saturday morning in the building he was reportedly burglarizing after falling from a ladder and calling 911 for help.

According to Cartersville Police reports, officers were dispatched to the Good Year Building around 3am Saturday after receiving a call from a woman who said her husband needed their help. Inside the building, they found Keith Allen Cole of Cartersville, lying on his back and in-pain after falling from a ladder. Police located the ladder and a pair of cutting pliers near an exposed junction box, leading them to believe Cole was trying to steal copper tubing before his fall.

Cole was taken to Cartersville Medical Center, and when he is released, he will be facing charges of felony burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
