Detectives with the Cartersville Police Department closed a nearly four month investigation with the arrest of a local man on Tuesday afternoon who currently serves as pastor of a Bartow County church.
Police say Sebastian Holley, age 41 of Cartersville, was taken into custody for allegedly inappropriately touching his 13-year-old stepdaughter. Holley is charged with one count of Child Molestation. The sexual abuse was first reported by the teen to a school faculty member in December of last year. DFACS and Cartersville police then became involved.
Corporal K.J. Sterling, the lead detective in the case, tells WRGA intercourse is not believed to have taken place, but says Holley put his hands where they shouldn’t have been.
Holley serves as pastor at Unity Worship Church of Cartersville, located on Willis Road.
Sterling says the child is not currently in protective custody.
A possible second victim has been identified by detectives, but any abuse in that case is unconfirmed at this time.
