Cartersville Police are investigating several cases of individuals who bought vehicles from a former local car dealer in that those customers were unable to acquire titles for their vehicle or they were repossessed.
Investigators believe North Georgia Financing, a used car dealership formerly located in Cartersville, failed to pay investors who funded vehicle acquisitions for the car lot. Regardless of this, owner Terry Michael Spruell, age 64 of Kennesaw continued to sell vehicles without paying his investors and those selling on consignment. The alleged negligence by Spruell resulted in the car titles being held by the investors.
At least eight victims have come forward as either a buyer or an investor. Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Spruell on charges of Theft by Deception. The suspect has yet to be arrested.
