Rome City Police are investigating two separate armed robberies that occurred just a day apart.

Early Wednesday morning, reports say that a man on his way to the store was on Grady Ave. when a black Cadillac pulled up beside him. According to the victim, two black males jumped out of the car, one pointing a gun and patting him down for money. The suspects got away with $300 from the victim’s wallet before getting back in their vehicle and heading away on Calhoun Ave.

The second armed robbery occurred around 4am this morning on Maple St. Reports claim a taxi driver was almost driven off the road by a purple car. The victim says a man wearing panty-hose on his head jumped out of the vehicle, pulled a gun on him and demanded money from him in Spanish. The assailant made off with $85 and the victims’ IDs before heading back down Maple.

Rome City Police currently have no suspects and are asking for the public’s help. If you have any information on either armed robberies, please call them 706-238-5120.
