Beginning today parents who have children within the Floyd County School System can access their grades through an online portal.
System spokesman Tim Hensley reports the new portal, called PowerSchool Parent Portal, replaces the i-Parent program that was previously used.
Parents who want to access their children’s grades must go to the school or schools where they attend class and get the access code for each individual student.
There are also free apps available to those who want to access the portal through their smartphone, though the school system says they’ve had mixed results using them on Apple phones. More info can be found on phone apps at www.pearsonschoolsystems.com/products/mobile
