The victim of last week's chainsaw accident, Jose Guadalupe Arias, age 39, was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon in Cedartown.
Arias was inadvertently struck in the throat with a chainsaw while on a construction site in Armuchee about 1 pm last Wednesday September 11th. The accident occurred in the Glenview area near the Georgia State Patrol Post on Martha Berry Highway. EMS crews took him to a local hospital with what Floyd Dispatch described as severe bleeding from his neck, injuries he ultimately succumbed to over the weekend.
Arias was a Rome resident. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
