A one-vehicle wreck resulted in the death of a young Calhoun man early Friday morning.
Calhoun police were dispatched to the scene of an accident on Victory Dr. at 7:35am. Upon their arrival, they found 25-year-old Charles W. James of Calhoun lying near the road. An investigation into the scene revealed that James was riding an Aprilia Motorcycle southbound when, for unknown reasons, he veered off the roadway and was ejected from his vehicle. Both James and his motorcycle struck a utility pole and a small retaining wall. Gordon EMS responded, but James passed away at the scene.
Chief Garry moss says the Calhoun Police are continuing to investigate the accident, hoping to find a more definitive answer to the cause.
