A two vehicle wreck on 5th Avenue in Rome involving an SUV and a mini-van sent two people to a local hospital with injuries Monday morning.

According to emergency personnel at the scene, the crash occurred sometime around 8:15 am.  The crash caused one person to become trapped inside a vehicle, though they were quickly freed and transported for medical care. 

Traffic was temporarily detoured as police shut down 5th Avenue from Marth Berry Blvd. to a nearby Dollar Store.
