The threat of winter weather has prompted officials with Gordon County Schools to release students early today.

According to Admin. Assistant Sharon Seabolt with the Gordon Superintendent's office the elementary schools will dismiss at 12:30 pm Thursday, while the middle and high schools will dismiss students at 1:30 pm.

A decision on Friday closings for Gordon County schools will be made Thursday evening.
