Here we go again North Georgia: the threat of winter weather has returned.
Late Wednesday afternoon the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for 20 counties across North Georgia, stretching from Dade to Towns and all areas in between.
The storm may produce a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain and sleet which forecasters say could bring up to ¼ inch of ice from Thursday evening and into Friday. Overnight temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 20’s and wind gusts could get as strong as the lower 30’s.
Other counties in the Winter Storm Watch include Floyd, Bartow, Gordon, Cherokee, Forsyth, Whitfield, Catoosa, Murray, Gilmer, Pickens, Walker and Chattooga.
Last week’s warning didn't prove to be much of a weather event, though this system is calling for more potential ice. Stay tuned for further information about this storm.
