Law enforcement and fire officials rushed to the Carmike Cinemas in Cartersville Thursday evening after someone allegedly threw a small homemade explosive into the parking lot of the movie theatre.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement saying they were investigating the incident which involved no injuries or damage to property.

CBS-Atlanta reports the explosive was tossed out of a moving car and contained acid inside a bottle which had aluminum foil around the opening.

Further updates about the incident are expected from police today.
