UPDATE: Victim Identified in Deadly Bartow Crash

A young woman was killed early Friday morning in a single vehicle accident in Emerson. 

 
The Georgia State Patrol has identified the victim of the fatal crash as 24-year-old Taryn Elizabeth McCormack of Cartersville. She was a passenger in a black Infiniti traveling down west on Old Alabama Rd. Around 1am, the vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, overturned several times and finally came to a rest on its top. McCormack died at the scene. The driver, 42-year-old Richard Wesley Kelley, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton has confirmed that one person was killed early Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Emerson.

Guyton says the wreck was discovered about 1 am on Bates Road. The passenger in the vehicle was killed but has not been identified to the public at this time as the family is yet to be contacted. The driver received non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

According to Guyton the deceased is a 24-year-old female.
