Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton has identified the parties involved in the Thursday morning murder-suicide at Barnsley Gardens Resort as Angela Brazell, age 42, of Cartersville and her ex-husband Robert Brazell.
Guyton says Angela Brazell was shot once in the head and was taken by EMS to Floyd Medical Center where she later died. Robert Brazell also died from a single gunshot to the head, though police believe his wound was self-inflicted.
Further information from the Sheriff's Department has not been made available at this time.
The official causes of death in the case are murder-suicide according to Guyton.
Barnsley Gardens Resort General Manager Michael Gordon released a statement to WRGA following the tragic incident:
“Barnsley Gardens Resort is a close-knit family and this unprecedented tragedy is felt across the resort. We grieve for the loss of our friend and colleague, a warm and caring woman who worked devotedly alongside us for nearly five years. Our thoughts, prayers and support are with her family at this time. We want to thank the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office for their professionalism and expedient work this morning. This tragic incident serves to reinforce and remind us all of the serious nature of domestic violence.”

Original Story: Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap is reporting a murder-suicide which took place at the Barnsley Gardens Resort early Thursday morning.
Police were alerted to a situation at 2:40 am involving a female clerk at the resort being shot by a man who then fled into the woods. Deputies and Georgia State Patrol tracked him using a helicopter but could not find him or get him to come out of the woods. His body was later discovered and it appeared he had died of a self-inflcited gunshot wound. The clerk was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The names of the deceased have not been made public at this time. Police say the incident is likely related to a family violence situation.
