A Shannon man faces seven counts of stalking in connection with incidents where he allegedly sent multiple explicit text messages to several different women.
According to arrest records, 44-year-old James Kay Convirse of an East Third Street address apparently picked out numbers from advertisement signs and sent vulgar and sexually explicit messages to at least seven different women.
He continued to send the victims messages, despite demands for him to stop or be reported to police. Investigators believe the unwanted text messages may have been sent numerous times over the past two years.
He was arrested Thursday at a Vaughn Street location by Floyd County Police.
Detectives say Convirse may be connected to other such incidents. They ask that anyone with information about these incidents or others to contact the criminal investigation division of the Floyd County Police Department.
