No one was injured in a house fire in Armuchee late Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the blaze on Regina Dr. around 6:15pm, after receiving a call a car in the driveway was on fire. The flames soon spread to the home, but luckily resident John Beaty and his family got out in time.

“I was sitting in the living room watching TV, heard a pop and I came out the door and the van was on fire,” Beaty says. “First thing I did was get everybody out. It burnt from there.”

The two cars in the driveway are a total loss, along with much of the Duplex.  The Red Cross was called in to help the eight adults and 1 child that reside in both apartments in the duplex.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the blaze.
