Authorities are still searching for a man they believe shot a woman in the mouth Saturday morning at a Cartersville motel.
According to Cartersville police, a witness claims the 1am shooting was accidental. The victim, identified as 24-year-old Classie Pratt of Adairsville, was teasing the assailant about his new gun at their room in the Courtesy Inn off of Highway 411. The suspect jokingly put the gun to her face, and when she grabbed it, the pistol went off.
The woman was taken to Grady Hospital in Atlanta, where her condition is listed as ‘critical,’ but stable. Police have not yet identified the suspect who fled the area after the incident; however he is described as a 6’0 ft. tall white male wearing blue jeans and a light shirt.
A woman is battling for her life in an Atlanta hospital after she was reportedly shot in the mouth at a motel in Cartersville.
Very little is known about the incident, which took place early Saturday morning at the Courtesy Inn near on Highway 411. According to Cartersville police, authorities responded to the motel around 1am to find the 24-year-old woman with an apparent gunshot to her mouth. She was taken via Life Flight to Grady Hospital in Atlanta, where her condition is listed as ‘critical,’ but she is stable.
A witness to the shooting claims it was accidental, however investigators are looking for a male suspect.
