Despite Floyd Medical Center’s decision not to pursue combining ambulance services with Redmond Regional Medical Center, officials at Redmond say they will continue to explore options.
In a statement issued Wednesday by Redmond states “Continuing to provide the citizens of Floyd, Polk and Chattooga Counties with prompt and quality Emergency Medical Services is a top priority. Redmond is proud of our EMS Team and the outstanding work they do every day. We have an excellent track record of delivering outstanding emergency care, response-time reliability and customer satisfaction. In an effort to enhance EMS coverage for our communities, we reached out to Floyd several months ago to partner with us in this life saving endeavor. Despite Floyd’s decision not to join us, we have and will continue to evaluate options for providing an even better service to the three counties we support. EMS saves lives and is a critical and valued part of our healthcare delivery system and one that we take very seriously.”
