PRESS RELEASE

Bartow County deputies responded to an apartment complex off of Iron Belt Rd in reference to a found toddler at approximately 10:45 Monday morning.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said a resident found a toddler standing near the entrance of the apartment complex close to the road.  The toddler was wearing only a diaper. The neighbor picked the toddler up and called 911.

Deputies and some residents went door to door for approximately an hour trying to locate her family but were unsuccessful. Eventually the toddler was transported to the Bartow County Department of Family and Children Services by Investigators who had responded to the scene.

About 2 hours after receiving the initial call, the parents of the toddler showed up at DFCS asking about their child.

After further investigation the father of the 2-year-old female toddler, Javares Sylvester, 24, was arrested and charged with Reckless Conduct. He is currently incarcerated at the Bartow County Jail with a $1,000.00 bond.
