Two inmates decided to paint their cells but they did not have the permission of the sheriff’s office—or any paint.
Reports at the Floyd County Jail indicate that Eric Carl Virta, 21, of 339 Brewer Road, Kingston and 20-year-old Michael David Yates of Calhoun used fruit punch and toothpaste to make paint, which they used to write vulgar slurs on their cell walls.
Both are now charged with felony interference with government property.
Virta, pictured right, has been in jail since March 12 charged with a probation violation and bondsman off bond.
Yates is also facing a probation violation and has been in jail since March 23.
