Polk County Jail commissary employee charged with theft by taking

An employee that worked for a commissary company at the Polk County Jail was booked and released this morning on a theft by taking charge.
Cedartown police conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of 24-year-old Kristen Dean of Rockmart.
Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsom said the suspect is accused of stealing in excess of $10,000.
Sheriff Johnny Moats confirmed Dean did not work for the Polk County Jail but for the commissary service.
Dean turned herself in at 10:57 this morning and was released at 11:31 a.m. on a $5,100 property bond, according to jail records.
