Rockmart Police charge man in connection with Tuesday shooting

A 24-year-old man is charged with two counts of aggravated assault in connection with a shooting and pistol whipping that happened on Pearl Street  in Rockmart on Tuesday.

According to Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrells William Moss shot a woman and pistol whipped another during the incident  that happened around 11 a.m.

The shooting appears to have stemmed from a domestic dispute, according to Sorrells.

The woman that was shot is being treated at Grady Hospital in Atlanta but her wounds do not appear to be life threatening. The other woman was treated on the scene.

Moss is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
